ECO School Council

Back to Home Page

Moorhouse has an eco-school council which has been run successfully for three years by Mr Holden, Mrs Robinson and

volunteers from years 3,4,5 and 6.

They have been really busy planting potatoes, broad beans, peas, tomatoes, pumpkins and for the first time sunflowers.

We would like to thank everyone who collected the 'Morrisons grow your own vouchers'' as we ended up with 10,000 altogether. This enabled us to order a greenhouse, two water butts, lots of seeds for next year and other equipment.

Below are the ECO councillors.

                           Arman Yr 5

                      Andrew Yr 6

                           Chloe Yr 6

                   Natalie Cook Yr 5

Last year the ECO Councillors grew potatoes, marrows and runner beans. Some of the potatoes were ready to dig up in June, we then sold them to parents.

In September we picked the runner beans and the marrows with which we made broth   The councillors then had the treat of tasting the result.
