Year 1 Spring Term

 

Things to remember

  • School opens at 8:40am each day and all children are expected to be in class by 8:50am. Late arrivals please report to the office.
  • School finishes at 3:00pm
  • Homework is given out on a Friday and should be returned no later than the

following Wednesday

  • Spellings are given out on a Friday and tested the following Friday.
  • PE days are Monday and Wednesday. Kit consists of a t-shirt, shorts and indoor pumps.

For Parents / Carers – Supporting your child at home

Please continue to help your child by

  • Ensuring all possessions, including uniform have names on
  • Encouraging your child to be as independent as possible
  • Listening to them read regularly and practising their phonics
  • Practising maths skills – numbers within 1
  • Encouraging and supporting with homework

Reading

Children will be rewarded for reading at home and this will be celebrated in Friday assembly.

  • Bronze award – 18 books
  • Silver award – 36 books
  • Gold award – 54 books

Children need to bring their record to school each morning for checking.
