Children will be rewarded for reading at home and this will be celebrated in Friday assembly.
Children need to bring their record to school each morning for checking.
Curriculum – What will the children be learning about during this half term?
We will be reading ‘Alice in Wonderland’ the abridged version by Emma Chichester Clark. The children will be retelling the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party from the viewpoint of the main character Alice.
Please support your child in learning their spellings. These will be sent home weekly on a Monday in preparation for our weekly spelling test each Friday.
This half term we will be learning about money, statistics, length and fractions.
Please support your child in learning their times tables and division facts particularly 3x, 4x and 8x.
Help your child’s understanding by asking them to find the correct change for items in a shop.
Our topic this half term is a local history study about the Rochdale Pioneers. We will be learning about how the Co-operative was first started by a group of ordinary people on Toad Lane in Rochdale in 1844.
